Fireworks are awesome. I’m just going to throw that out there. We take something dangerous and make it beautiful. A lot of writing and art is pretty safe. We tap away at our keyboards and scribble onto paper. We can do this at our kitchen tables or on the edge of a volcano. Aside from setting, it’s a pretty normal and unexciting activity.
But what goes on in those pages, what we paint into art… that’s a whole different story. Dragon fire, replicating viruses, shipwrecks, first kisses, shooting the moon, burying the past, exploring the depths of an unknowable cave, adventure and thrill and experiences we dive into with imagination.
We take the action and adventure and emotion, and we make a whole darned book out of it!
As you go around playing with fire today, I give you these two simple instructions:
Be dangerous. Be beautiful.
